Need a House Call
This guide will take you step-by-step through the process of getting connected to the doctor. In the first section, you will learn how to create your first appointment request. Then, you will learn how to prepare for the appointment you made.
If you experience any technical difficulties within the portal, please direct your questions to support@securevideo.com or call the 24/7 phone support service at (888) 540-2829. In addition, you may call this number if you would like to schedule a free video test session.
Whether you're a resident or visitor in the U.S. Virgin Islands, click this button to make an appointment with the doctor today!
Step 1: Click "TALK TO THE DOCTOR"
This button will take you to the patient portal. If the button is not working, you may need to enable links on your browser.
Step 2: Select Appointment Time
Select your preferred date and time from the calendar. We advise selecting 2-3 time slots in case the doctor is unexpectedly unavailable.
Step 3: Enter Information
Enter all required fields. Important notifications will be sent to the email you provide. If you would prefer to receive notifications as text messages, enter your mobile phone number. Standard text messaging rates apply.
Step 4: Submit Request
Verify the details and submit your request. You will be notified via email (or text message) when your appointment time has been confirmed.
Step 5: Install Zoom
Click install Zoom to install Zoom on your device. This is the live video chat software that will securely connect you with the doctor. Don't worry—it's free and you only have to do it once for each device you use.
It is important to begin preparing for your appointment at least 15 minutes ahead of time so that the appointment can begin on time.
An internet connection and web cam are both required for the video chat.
It is also recommended to have a flashlight and any medications you may be taking with you at the time of the appointment.
At any point during this process, you may click the chat icon in the bottom right-hand side of the browser to initiate a secure chat with the doctor. Use this feature if you are running late or experiencing difficulties getting connected at the time of your appointment.
Step 6: Navigate to your Dashboard
Click the link to your dashboard in the confirmation email you received. If the button is not working, you may need to enable the link. On your dashboard, you should see the appointment listed.
Step 7: Read and Sign the Notice of Privacy Practices
Click the blue link titled "Notice of Privacy Practices" in the upper left-hand corner of the appointment box to open the document. Read, sign, and submit this form.
Step 8: Fill Out Medical Intake Form
Click the blue link titled "Medical Intake Form" in the upper left-hand corner of the appointment box to open the form. Fill out all required fields, sign, and submit. All information you provide is securely submitted and made available to the doctor for use during your appointment.
You must sign and submit the Medical Intake Form before your appointment.
Step 9: Set Up Your Webcam
If the device you are using already has a built-in camera, you can skip this step. Otherwise, follow the instructions that came with your web cam to connect the camera to your device. You may have to adjust your device settings to recognize the external camera. Make sure to set up your camera in a well-lit area so the doctor can see you.
Step 10: Enter Payment Details
Finally, provide a form of payment, either a Debit Card or Credit Card. Payments are processed through Stripe, a trusted provider for secure, online payment processing. Once you submit a valid form of payment, your request will be submitted.
For information on our pricing structure, see Pricing.
Step 11: Take Measurements
Depending on your symptoms, you may need to measure your vitals before the appointment. If you feel feverish, are experiencing flu symptoms, or have an infection, use a thermometer to take your temperature and record the number for your appointment. If you are experiencing fever or vomiting, check your pulse by placing two fingers on your wrist and counting the number of beats in 60 seconds. Here is a detailed wikiHow article on how to check your pulse.
Step 12: Enter Waiting Room
Finally, enter the appointment by clicking "Enter Waiting Room." A video conferencing window will open in the Zoom app automatically. Adjust the camera to focus on you and make sure there is adequate lighting. Once you see yourself clearly in the window, you are ready to meet with the doctor. Simply wait and the doctor will join you at the time of the appointment.
If the time of the appointment has passed and the doctor has not joined the meeting, check your web browser to see if you have received a message via the chat. You may have missed a step in the setup process or the doctor may need to reschedule in case of an emergency.
We hope that you found these instructions helpful and enjoy your first appointment!
